BK SUMMER

Something bright off my table at Canal

A shirt I did for LOOSH!

Joker hat

My homeboy Justin just moved to ny, and is staying in this old school warehouse building in Willyburg South. He has this dope roof top to chill on... On the top are a bunch of nice burners and throwies...along with this Harold Hunter Gem.

My homegirl Lily's granfather passed. She asked me to do a shirt. Alittle stencil and airbrush combo. My first airbrush shirt ever. PAZ AL ALMA DE SENOR RODRIQUEZ!

Canada - BK

Well, I went to Canada. I keep wanting to spell it as "Canda" anywayzzz. I took some pics. These are two are the first I stumbled into. My bro, Stephen, saw this little guy walking on the path by our place in Canada. Being the turtle guy I am, he got me to rescue the litle guy. I set him free ; )

This is a van for this rap group, and they were like "if anyone would like to bomb our road van, please let us know." And I was like "Ummm where do I paint." So here are the first pics i found..there are more..but I had a good time with some stencils of mine.

Barrio Plan Paz - my senior thesis

With the help of my good friend Enrique, I was able to transfer my senior thesis from DVD on to youtube. I worked about six solid months on this project, hoping to give viewers a sense of the beautiful world which I am from, Colombia! My senior project consisted on 40 x 30 3D stills, this video was made just for my enjoyment.

Everything was modeled and colored by me, meaning all the billboards and graffiti. Music by Thievery Corporation.

ps - I had to render it quickly (almost one week of rendering on 5-6 different computers, g5 macs) If I did it any slower it would have taken another week... My mom complains that it is fast, but I had little choice.

I hope you enjoy.

another rendition

I felt like comparing two artist's renditions of the lake which my father loved so much, and I love so much.

First is a painting by painter Jane Grey (Ontario, Canada), second (if you had seen before) the memorial collage piece I did for my father, third the actual photo to give you an idea of the scenery.

First NY gallery showing...holler!

My first gallery showing en la cuidad de Nueva York, at Niagra off Ave A and 7th... not too shabby of a place! Had fun, saw some friends, talked a little bizz.

(last pic, stose in native american costume, rico and some other artist that was there..) See more of my work at www.federicofrum.com

Ricky Powell, good guy to meet

The other day I went to this Fader party and had the pleasure to run into old school hip hop photographer, Ricky Powell. Real cool guy, we shot the sh*t for a minute. He photographed greats like Run DMC, LL, and the was notorious for rolling with the Beastie Boys! and many others..! The vid gives a little idea of who he is! (he is having a show @ Milk (450 west 15th), June 3rd, checkiT!)

What you can do with a piece of Styrofoam!

My friend Edwin picked up this piece of Styrofoam about 3 months ago and left it in my house. For the longest I have looked at this thing sitting in my kitchen. I had to do something with it. It is like 3 x 1. Hopefully I'll do more... maybe saying NATA ; )

(sorry for the pics...they are off the celly, not the greatest, but definitely efficient)

Working on Scene

I painted a hat for Lupe Fiasco for two british BBC reporters going to interview Lupe Fiasco! They left me a link to their website where I found myself seeing pics of me on one of the reporters blogs. U guys like those stencils right?...all made by non other than Fresh Fred-Rico!

Your big brothers sneaker...

My uncle is amazing with a coat hanger, some tape and cardboard. Even after a stroke disabling his right hand and being right handed, one year later he is back at it! Big ups tio! I had to have him make the Pimp My Gear Sneaker, ofcourse with alil extra Guatemala Style! A spray can was placed beside it to show its size, but its about 3.5 x 2. It was created to place on the table in Times Square, but I might just save it at home. Its too fresh!

Bogota Dreams Logo

After a good talk with my buddy Mike Fey (great web design...check him.. http://www.mfey.com/) I went with the pimped out Fruit of the loom design, Colombian Style. Yep, no narcotics people...Colombia much more beautiful than that.

Line Sheet Complete

The line sheet is out and hitting the streets. I finally got it up as a .pdf and in print form! Contact me if any of these shirts tickle your fancy! make sure to check www.myspace.com/bogotadreams.

(the image should be animated, but i guess animated gifs dont work on blogspot..thats poopy..ha)

My father

In January 4th my father passed away after living an amazing life. His cancer was a tiny part of his life. It was something that only made him a stronger and better person. In Dec '07 my fathers cancer in his lung began to worsen. Shortening his oxygen count in his blood. He was eventually admitted in INOVA Hospital, FairFax, Virginia. He was there for about 8 days. They released him to go home and be under hospice care. 2 days later he returned to the hospital with a tube in his lung to help him with a lung that had collapsed. Is breathing worsened. With drugs to calm his breathing and anxiety he passed away on Friday January 4th at 9:40 am with me and my mother at his side. We had just arrived 40 minutes earlier, it was like he was waiting for us to pass.

His passing brought off much inspiration. For his service i created a collage (4 x 3) our of tissue paper and glue which we hung up in the reception area of the church. I also painted a canvas to give all friends and family their own opportunity to express their thoughts and feelings for my father. Lastly I wrote him a poem which I read aloud to the friends and family attending the service.

I want you to all feel the inspiration which he has given me and enjoy the creations which I made with the love for my father, Austin Pendelton Frum.

"A Little Something about my Pop"

Jogging down Nash with Carlos

smiles on them both

no clouds above shoulders

African sun touched his shoulders

Ille et Vilaine et La Rance

French canals crossed

not just the Seine

a calm man

he was his own boss

never paused for a second

this lawyer knew his textbook

could ask him any question

and taught many lessons

“Federico , never call somebody names,

but instead tell them how you feel”

and on my two wheel bike

he taught me how to ride

over life’s obstacles

from within

his memory will forever reside

- much love to all my friends and family that were there and are still there will all thier love and support...muchisimas gracias!
